Hundertwasser designed the layout of this book and wrote the text in 3 languages (German, English, French), in which he reflected his life in New Zealand. The photographs of the book were taken partly by the German photographer Gerd Ludwig, partly by Hundertwasser, marked with D standing for Hundertwasser's name Dunkelbunt, which means: glowing in pure strong and deep colours, a little sad like seen on a rainy day. The photographs witness Hundertwasser's life in harmony with nature, they show him painting, planting trees, walking around his land and sailing his ship Regentag. The book was published by Knaus Verlag in co-operation with ZEITmagazin Kunstedition, Hamburg. The special edition of the book contained the silk scarf 739A Man Find in Zahala. (see APA 131)
