Hundertwasser's comment on the work

"I am not a façade designer (...). I am after much more, I am out to humanize buildings, and you can't achieve that by painting the façade. (...) the total impression will not be shocking or gaudy or sensational, it will be more psychological, i. e., directed within, a person will be touched from the inside, be taken by it, by the very humanization of the façade, by the rhythm of the windows, which are all organic, as well as by the inclusion of nature; a person will be irresistibly attracted to this building (...). There will be nothing there which is loud, no loud colours, no loud ideas, something very organic, natural will have come about, where people will like to pass by."(Hundertwasser in a speech to the staff of the Rosenthal Company, May 5, 1980, from: Das Hundertwasser Haus, Wien, 1985, p. 133-136)
